Yuba Sutter Master Chorale

The Yuba Sutter Master Chorale Dances Into The 2009-2010 Season!

Now in their sixth exciting season, the Yuba Sutter Master Chorale's "The Joy of Christmas" was a truly wonderful celebration of the holidays and included a special treat in the form of dancers from Jacque's Dance Expressions.  These talented young people performed nine intrepretive dances to Lloyd Pfautsch's "A Day for Dancing".   Other holiday selections performed by the YSMC included "Seven Joys of Christmas" by Kirke Mechem, "The Flight to Egypt" by Max Bruch, and "The Shepherd and the King" by Eleanor Farjeon and Brian Holmes.   This year the YSMC added a second performance at First Presbyterian Church in Marysville in addition to their scheduled performance at St. Andrew Presbyterian in Yuba City.   The concert was a beautiful start to the holiday season and most definitely provided "The Joy of Christmas" for all who attended!

Led by the renowned and dynamic Joaquina Calvo Johnson, members of the Chorale come from throughout the Yuba Sutter area as well as Sacramento, Placer, and Colusa Counties.  Singers who enjoy choral art are encouraged to become a member and sing in this fine ensemble.  Researsals take place on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, 850 Cooper Avenue, Yuba City.  For more information about the YSMC, please call the Yuba Sutter Regional Arts Council at (530) 742-ARTS or e-mail us at ysmcnews@yubasuttermc.com.  Thank you for visiting our website!  Please bookmark this page and check back often for updated information on our events.
